Two (2) Weeks Before Procedure:

If you are taking, Coumadin, Plavix, Pradaxa, Warfarin, Xarelto, or any blood thinner (other than aspirin) contact your prescribing doctor or our office for any special/holding instructions.


WEEK OF PROCEDURE: 

Avoid: Seeds, Nuts, Corn, and Fiber Supplements (Metamucil, Citrucel).


Four (4) Weeks Before Procedure:

Stop iron supplements.


Three (3) Days Before Procedure:
No alcoholic beverages


Liquids: 

It is important that large volumes (64oz) of clear liquids be consumed the day BEFORE your procedure, up until midnight to avoid dehydration.


***The Day Before Your Procedure PRIOR to starting your Prep.***


Breakfast:
**Must be finished by 11:00 am **

Choose ONE

  • Easy to Prepare
    1 - 2 eggs (fried, over easy, scrambled, boiled), White bread toast w/ jelly, 1 Pancake/waffle w/ syrup.
  • Healthy
    Small portion of skinless chicken, turkey or fish.
  • Restaurant
    1 Egg breakfast sandwich on white bread or plain bagel. NO meat or cheese. 1 Pancake or waffle with syrup.


Lunch & Dinner:

  • Gatorade/Kool Aid (No red).
  • Water, Coffee, Tea (NO MILK NO NON-DAIRY CREAMER).
  • Strained fruit juice without pulp (Apple, white grape, lemonade).
  • Soups – Low Sodium Chicken or Beef Bouillon/Broth.


Desserts

  • Hard Candies, Jell-O (no red or fruit toppings) Popsicles, Water Ice.
  • NO SHERBETS OR FRUIT BARS.


***Please Do Not Eat Anything After Starting The Bowel Prep ***


  • You may have small sips of clear liquids up to 3 hours prior to your procedure
  • Clear liquids you may have include: water, strained apple or white grape juice


  • FOLLOW YOUR PREP INSTRUCTIONS COMPLETELY
    Bowel Prep starts the night before your procedure.
  • Please review your additional paperwork so see what supplies are needed and have them ready in advance.
